Terms of Use
Last updated 27 October 2026
These terms apply when you use Saykiko, on the web at saykiko.com or in the iPhone app. Saykiko is made by Katgames OÜ, a company registered in Estonia (“we”). By using Saykiko you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. Questions: hello@saykiko.com.
What Saykiko is
Saykiko translates conversations live, with everyone on their own phone. The translations are made by AI. They are usually good and sometimes wrong: a word can be misheard, a name mistranslated, a tone missed. Each phone shows what it heard so you can fix it.
Don't rely on Saykiko where a mistake could cause harm, such as medical, legal or financial matters, emergencies, or anything safety-related. Use a professional interpreter for those.
Using it well
- Only use Saykiko with people who know they are in a translated conversation.
- Don't use it to break the law, to harass or threaten anyone, or to deceive the people you talk to.
- Don't try to get into conversations you weren't invited to, overload the service, or get around its limits.
- What you say, and what you choose to share afterwards (such as the recap card), is your responsibility.
Your words
What you say stays yours. You allow us to process it only to run Saykiko for you: to turn speech into text, translate it, explain it or recap it when asked, and to keep it as long as the Privacy Policy describes.
Free use
Typing is always free. A phone's first evening of hosting is free in full. After that, a free conversation is two people, with a daily amount of free voice. Guests never pay and never sign up. We may change what is free, and will say so in the app.
Passes and Together
- Day pass and Weekly pass are one-time purchases. They last 24 hours or 7 days from the purchase and do not renew. A pass bought as a gift starts the first time the receiving phone starts a conversation.
- Together is a subscription, monthly or yearly. It renews automatically at the same price for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel it in your iPhone's Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Together until the end of the period you paid for.
- Payment is charged to your Apple account when you confirm the purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency.
- Purchases are made through Apple, and Apple's terms for purchases apply. Refunds are handled by Apple: you can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. A refunded purchase stops giving its plan.
- A conversation that started while a plan was active is never cut off when the plan ends.
Gifts
A gift link (“Pay for my parents”) lets the phones you send it to start their own conversations at your expense: one phone for a pass, up to four phones for Together, for as long as your Together subscription renews. Only send it to people you mean to give it to; anyone with the link can accept it while there is room. A gift ends if its purchase is refunded, and a gifted pass can't be used on the buyer's own phone.
The iPhone app
If you use the iPhone app, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If these terms conflict with it for the iPhone app, Apple's agreement wins. Apple has no responsibility for Saykiko or its support; we do.
Changes and availability
We keep improving Saykiko and may change or stop features. We'll do our best to keep it running, but can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll update this page and say so in the app.
Liability
Saykiko is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for misunderstandings caused by a translation, or for indirect losses, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country you live in.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of Estonia. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, and you can bring a claim in its courts.
